About S.O.S.
Students Opposing Starvation (S.O.S.) was formed by students in the Social Media
Marketing course at Lynchburg College School of Business and Economics (SOBE). Their
goal was to help save the lives of malnourished children in East Africa and demonstrate
the results with healthy, smiling children. S.O.S. is partnering with Kissito Healthcare
International (www.kissitointernational.org), a Roanoke, VA based organization that
has healthcare facilities in both Ethiopia and Uganda, and Legacy International
(www.legacyintl.org), an international organization that has provided three decades
of trainings to build healthier communities. SOBE is launching the first S.O.S.
effort; LC students are working to make it successful. The objective is to share
the program with other colleges and universities throughout the USA.
